Ecoregions:
Much of the Lower watershed is in the Willamette Valley Ecoregion.
The Western Cascade Ecoregion extends into the southeastern portion of the watershed.

Within the Lower Watershed, the 2631 different polygons shown here, represent 102 soil classifications.

Here is average annual precipitation based on data from 1960 to 1990.

Storms can dump a lot of water in a short amount of time.
This map shows the amount of precipitation that can be expected over a 24 hour period in a two year recurrance interval.

Palustrine or Marshy Wetlands. Data are from the National Wetlands Inventory.
Open water, e.g. lakes, streams or rivers, are in a different classification.
