Rudi was born April 29, 2001 all KNPV Dutch Malinois working lines imported from the Netherlands at 7 weeks of age. As a puppy he acclimated to the environment learning sits, downs, attention and tracking in a very concentrated manner. He started swimming and loves to carry sticks around the yard. Today he was retrieving sticks out of the water and getting use to bicycling. Tomorrow; who knows what is next???

On October 6, 2002 Rudi decided he was ready for his BH title and entered the PNW Regional Championship Trial and passed. Still needing a lot of polish Rudi will now be training for his Schutzhund I title.

On March 22, 2003 Rudi entered the U.S.A., H.O.T. ( handler owner trained ) Tournament and received a passing score for an Obedience 1 title and 1st Place. Then the next week-end Rudi entered another schutzhund trial at the Willamette Valley Schutzhund Club and received 93 points for a Tracking 1 title.

On December 13, 2003 Rudi entered the schutzhund trial of the Cascade WDA, Washington, in the pouring rain, and obtained his Schutzhund 1 title. In rain and flooded fields Rudi received 90 points in the tracking phase.

On September 11, 2004 Rudi entered the schutzhund trial of the Willamette Valley Schutzhund club and obtained his Obedience 2 title. Although it was not a astronomical performance Rudi had a great time and received the very nice award of the eagle and flag shown below.

Rudi has participated in three basic police handler classes in 2003 and is ready for certification in the OPCA Proficiency Standards of Agility & Article Search. He has done building searches, area searches, article searches, box searches, tactical movements, felony car stops, man in the bushes alerts, muzzle work - find & bark, alert on command, crossing water pursuits, and leg bites. He outs cleanly and guards & barks. Rudi has started training the call-off exercise of the OPCA Patrol Dog standards without any difficulties and can be called to return to the handler or downed while chasing the suspect. He also began training for the Sch2 examination receiving 90 points in protection.

On June 15, 2005 the Medford Police Department tested Rudi for police service and decided to purchase him. Rudi offically became a police K9 on July 6, 2005, is now working with Officer Levi Moffitt and will be having fun finding bad guys every night.
